ABOUT THE SCENT

how many snowdrops?

how many streams?

how many sunshines?

how many beams?

to sing this cry into a psalm,

to dream my chaos into a calm...

Make no mistake — this isn’t a skip-through-the-meadow kind of scent.

Snowdrops & Sunshines is bottled light at the end of a very long tunnel. It’s fresh, sunny day after a flood warning. A warm breath when your kettle’s frozen. A promise in the shape of jasmine, lime, mint, and cedar — like someone whispered you’re going to be okay just when you needed to hear it.

It’s zesty, green, and just a little bit magical. Like wildflowers growing through concrete or a snowdrop pushing through frost with quiet determination. Uplifting and delicate, but with backbone. The kind of scent that doesn’t shout — it hums, gently but insistently, until the world feels safe again.

THE STORY

When I opened Cow on the Ice in Ely, we lived on a boat.
Beautiful, classic, wooden. A dream — and sometimes, a nightmare.

We were two small business owners trying to make it work. Off-grid living meant frozen windows, frozen toes, frozen everything. During our third year on the water, our marina flooded more times than I can count, and I never knew if I’d end up sleeping in the shop or on the boat.

In the middle of that — the exhaustion, the cold, the house-buying madness (a Herculean task when you're self-employed and live on a floating antique) — I needed something.

Something that reminded me spring would come. That there would be warmth again.

Light again.

A roof again.

So I blended it.

Snowdrops & Sunshines was made not in luxury but in survival. It was my way of holding onto hope. Of conjuring calm when everything felt unstable. And somehow, it worked.

We made it. We bought our little house. And now this fragrance lives on as a gentle nudge that happy endings are real — and sometimes, they smell like mint and jasmine and morning light on the river.
